Tambo and Lambya office launch

Lambya and Tambo Oral Bible Transaltion (OBT) launch 15/12/22 The Bible and Literature Translation Association in collaboration with the local churches and the Lambya Royal Establishment have embarked on the translation of the Bible into Chitambo and Chilambya for meaningful transformation of the local population through the word of God and for the revival and preservation of the local languages through its utilization in churches, schools and cultural events. BILTA has for the past two years been working hard to study viability and vitality of the Chitambo and Chilambya languages through a survey which resulted into the establishment of the translation work. The guest of honor was very grateful to be part of the important occasion which took place at lsoka council hall. The launch and the graduation ceremony which was attended by different church leaders, government departments and from the community respectively. The DC Mr. Colings Sichivula of Isoka District in Muchinga Province in his speech said Government and the church have been partners from time of memorial to date. However, the DC also said there has been development whenever the government and Christian Organizations work together. The DC said government has not performed according to the people's expectations but the church has been there to supplement. Mr. Colings Sichivula said Government will be looking forward to be having many materials in the local languages that will help people understand the word of God. The cluster team of fourteen Oral Bible translators graduated and were trained by Bio Athanase from Benin, Maikell Solomon and Ibrahim Amish both from Nigeria and Bertha Chilembo a trainer in training from BiLTA Zambia. The National vice secretary for BiLTA Apostle Vincent Chibesa congratulated the team for the hard work shown during the training. The Launch and graduation ceremony for Chilambya speaking people of chief Mwanawisi and Chitambo speaking people of Chief Katyetye was launched at lsoka council Hall in lsoka District of Muchinga Province of Zambia.
