The Bible Literature and Translation Association (BiLTA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Isoka district on April 15-16, 2026. The event was a success.

BiLTA national chairman Fr. Jackson Johnes Katete called the participants to foster a spirit of openness and inclusivity.

  1. Fr Katete outlined the aim of the meeting, stressing that BiLTA’s mission is collective and that even those who are not tribe owners should feel fully part of the process.

The chairman encouraged the executive committee to engage with others in identifying solutions where shortcomings may have occurred, underscoring the importance of collaboration and accountability.

He further emphasized that BiLTA’s calling is to bring salvation and value to the people, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to service and upliftment.

He acknowledged that our progress thus far has been achieved through prayer and reminded the members that they must all seek holiness in their actions and in their lives.

Fr. Katete also said wrong practices must not be heard among the leaders, such as soliciting favors from the people they lead in local committees. Instead, they must demonstrate humility in their work, remembering that they are not being used by the Lord in vain.

The chairman also emphasized that the growth they are witnessing in BiLTA was not planned by human effort but has been brought about by the Lord for a purpose and has encouraged everyone to remain steadfast, to continue in faith, and to embrace the responsibility entrusted to them with humility and dedication.

The chairman thanked the House for their active participation and for their willingness to work with BiLTA.

The meeting had in attendance the local chairpersons from the 13 offices where BiLTA has established oral Bible translation since 2019.
